About Stephanie

My name is Stephanie, founder of Cup of Tea and your personal business English teacher and coach. Language is a passion of mine, and teaching ESL allows me to do work I love.

I know how frustrating it can be when language becomes a barrier between you and your career goals. That's why it is so incredible to see my clients reach their goals and excel in their jobs and businesses. I want to help you achieve the same success!

My Background

Because I am an entrepreneur myself, I love working with business-minded professionals who want to feel confident and empowered in their businesses and work environments. Together we create a personalized learning program to make this a reality.

As a certified Neurolanguage Coach® (registered US and European trademark in the name of Rachel Marie Paling), I place a high value on language learning that takes place in a relaxed, "brain-friendly" environment. I love having meaningful conversations that allow clients to use the language in ways that are relevant to their lives and language goals.

One of the most important philosophies I adhere to is that making mistakes is vital to the language learning process. By creating a comfortable learning environment, I help students to shed their language anxiety and express themselves fully and authentically.

My education includes a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri at Columbia and a Master of Arts in Germanic Language from the University of Texas at Austin, where I was a teaching assistant. In addition to my time at UT-Austin, I owned and operated my own tutoring business for seven years, as well as taught English as a Second Language at ELS Language Center in Clear Lake, Texas.
